Your early Teens to late Teens were mirrored on the other side of Boulevard but I didn't start drinking until I was 18. Chummed with 14 other guys at that time. Early teens spent a lot of time up at Shuniah mines winter skiing summer bicycling Fall hunting birds and shooting anything that splattered. I grew up in Hurkett we moved to Current River when I was 10 . In Hurkett my folks owned a General Store and there is a million stories from that period. Latter teens I spent a summer training with the Navy Reserve had a 3 year hitch. After that 2 years Diamond Drilling big $$$$ one of those years spent 3000 ft underground at Pickle Crow Gold Mines ( another Million stories). No problems at home my parents were self employed had no time to drink or mess with us kids. We were free grazers didn't know there was a meal called lunch until I was 20. Went out after breakfast and came back 6 or 7 all year round. Became an Accountant & Tax Guy Self Employed with my High School Gal friend Lynda Grant. Have often thought of putting pen to paper but have come up with all kinds of excuses. Started meeting some of my old Comparos recently that has really shook the memory tree. Ah who knows.
P.S all those wanna be hoods - We could hear their Livers exploding before the turn of the century here in Current River . They are all turned to dust now.
Thanks Vern for the ride.
